Our Focus Areas
CEEC is actively implementing a broad range of programs to advance sustainability, promote environmental stewardship, and empower communities across Malawi and beyond.
Communication Campaigns
Through culturally relevant, multilingual campaigns, we raise awareness on issues such as deforestation, waste management, and climate change. The approach includes: Radio and social media broadcasts; Posters, community theater, and local events; Public storytelling and digital advocacy.
Waste Management
We promote practical, community-based waste solutions that improve public health and environmental quality. Core activities include: Waste separation, recycling, and composting training; School and community clean-up events; Upcycling projects and awareness sessions.
Environmental Education
As a foundational pillar, CEEC's education programs empower learners of all ages to take environmental responsibility seriously. Offerings include: Environmental clubs and school outreach at all levels; Teacher capacity building; Learning materials and classroom toolkits.
Nature Experiences
We reconnect people with nature to foster environmental empathy and understanding through hands-on experiences. Experiences we provide: Nature walks and eco-trips; Outdoor camps and biodiversity exploration; Sensory learning and reflection in natural settings.
Environmental Management
We support ecosystem restoration and conservation through localized environmental interventions. Focus areas include: Reforestation and wetland restoration; Conservation agriculture and sustainable land use; Climate resilience training and biodiversity protection.
Research
Our research activities generate actionable knowledge to address local and national environmental challenges. Research themes include: Environmental behavior, climate change impacts, and conservation strategies; Participatory and community-led research; Collaboration with universities and think tanks.
Material Development
We create customized, accessible environmental learning and advocacy materials for diverse audiences. Resources include: Posters, guides, videos, and interactive media; Translations into local languages; Age-appropriate educational kits and community resources.
Indigenous Knowledge
CEEC honors Malawi’s rich environmental traditions by integrating indigenous wisdom into modern sustainability efforts. How we do this: Documenting traditional practices and ecological knowledge; Collaborating with cultural custodians and elders; Promoting storytelling and intergenerational learning.
Community Service
We encourage civic action through structured opportunities for environmental volunteering and engagement. Activities involve: Tree planting, school greening, and eco-club development; Youth mobilization and mentorship; Community gardens and awareness events.
Event Management
CEEC organizes impactful events that bring stakeholders together to learn, share, and celebrate environmental progress. Some of our signature events include: Environmental festivals and school competitions; National and International days and campaign launches; Policy forums and sustainability summits.
